Warning

The use of amplifiers requires proper introduction by experienced club members!

Start up procedure

1. Turn on computer by turning on power strip behind monitors
2. Open the control website
3. Turn on power, connect to relay and rotor

Flex 6500

4. Turn on Flex radio in the control website
5. Start SmartSDR (or other compatible software)
6. Check antenna connection is correct (you MUST receive some signals)
7. Antennas will automatically switch according to the bands in the flex
8. Amplifiers are available for selection and connected in line

IC-7300Mk2

4. Ensure Flex is off and change cables on antenna switch (middle connection) to the Icom cable
5. Turn on PSU and radio
6. Turn on SB-230 PA for QRO
7. Select antenna in control website
8. Tune antenna (see paper guide in shack) with the PA (not needed for 100W ops)

Turn off procedure

1. Park antenna north (alternatively south) with the rotor

Flex 6500

2. Exit SmartSDR
3. Turn off Flex in the control website
4. If PA was used for a long time under high power wait 5m to cool down
5. Turn off power
6. Shutdown PC and turn off power strip

IC-7300Mk2

2. Turn off SB-230
3. Turn off radio and PSU
4. reconnect coax to the flex at the antenna switch
5. Turn off power in the control website
6. Shutdown PC and turn off power strip
